Police responded, rushed the victim to hospital where he was confirmed dead, with visible marks of violence found on his body; a manhunt for the teacher has been launched.

A 65-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times at her residence in Ogbu Village, Ivite Umueri, Anambra East LGA on July 14, 2026, and later died after multiple hospitals reportedly refused to treat her promptly. Community members apprehended one suspect and handed him over to police; the family has petitioned the President, Governor, and security agencies demanding a thorough investigation and prosecution of all involved.
