1. About OpenWatch

OpenWatch Nigeria is a free, open-source security intelligence platform that aggregates and analyzes publicly available news reports about security incidents across Nigeria. The platform is operated by Third Space Labs.

2. Accuracy Disclaimer

Incident data is extracted from public news sources using AI and may contain inaccuracies. Each incident includes a confidence score indicating reliability. OpenWatch is an informational tool — not a substitute for official security advisories from Nigerian law enforcement or government agencies.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information displayed on the platform.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform to incite violence or panic
  • Exceed API rate limits or attempt to circumvent them
  • Scrape or bulk-download data for commercial purposes without an enterprise API key
  • Misrepresent OpenWatch data as official government intelligence
  • Attempt to interfere with the platform's operation

4. API Access

The free API tier is limited to 20 requests per day per IP address. Enterprise API access with higher limits is available by contacting dev@trdspc.com. API keys are non-transferable and may be revoked for abuse.

5. Intellectual Property

OpenWatch is open-source software. Incident summaries are generated from public news sources and are provided for informational purposes. Original news content remains the property of its respective publishers.

6. Limitation of Liability

OpenWatch Nigeria and its operators are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided by the platform. Use the platform at your own discretion. In no event shall we be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
