Bayelsa State Police Command arrested a father and son from Ekeremor LGA for allegedly being in possession of four single-barrel guns concealed in a sack. Both suspects were intercepted and taken into custody.

Residents of Egbemo Angalabiri community in Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State staged a peaceful protest at the premises of Renaissance Africa Energy Company and Oando Plc, accusing the firms of marginalisation, failing to employ qualified community members, and neglecting basic amenities.

A final year student was killed by local youths over a disputed levy at a sand dump in Amassoma, Bayelsa State. The incident escalated after an argument regarding the fee for climbing the dump.

Four persons were killed in communal clashes in the Bilabiri community of Ekeremor LGA, Bayelsa State, over a disagreement regarding a security contract with a multinational oil company. Many residents fled the area due to the violence.
4 February 2021 · Kidnapping
Militants attacked NSCDC officials in Amabulou community, Bayelsa State, abducting one personnel and stealing arms. The abducted personnel was later rescued by community members.
6 April 2020 · Piracy
Troops engaged in a gun battle with sea robbers in Bayelsa, resulting in the death of one suspect and the arrest of three others. The incident occurred in Bilabiri community.
17 February 2020 · Communal violence
Military personnel allegedly invaded Lutegbene community, burning down houses and manhandling residents in retaliation for the killing of four soldiers by suspected pirates. The community claims innocence and reports significant property damage.
