The Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory has directed DPOs to end rising incidents of robbery and related crimes in the city centre within two weeks. This follows a recent rescue operation that freed five kidnapped victims and dismantled bandit hideouts.

A group of suspects allegedly plotted to access the Presidential Villa in Abuja to carry out a coup against President Bola Tinubu and other officials, with discussions of using force and sabotage of electricity supply. The case is currently under trial.

The Nigerian Army arrested 10 suspected terrorists and rescued three kidnap victims during coordinated operations in Abuja and the North-Central region. The operations included arrests in Abaji and Gwer West LGA, with additional successes in anti-kidnapping efforts in Benue.

Troops of the Nigerian Army intercepted 11 suspects in Kuje Area Council of Abuja who were carrying materials believed to be for the production of improvised explosive devices.

Security has been heightened in Abuja following a warning of planned coordinated attacks by multiple terrorist groups, including ISWAP and Boko Haram, targeting key installations. Authorities have intensified surveillance and patrols in response to the threat.

The Federal Government has filed charges against six individuals for allegedly plotting a coup and committing acts of terrorism against Nigeria. The defendants are accused of conspiracy to wage war against the state and failing to disclose intelligence related to the planned treasonable act.

An internal memo from the Nigeria Customs Service indicates that ISWAP and Boko Haram are planning attacks on key infrastructure, including the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and a military detention centre in Niger State. Security forces have been placed on high alert in response to this threat.

The Federal High Court in Abuja is hearing a case involving Tukur Mamu, an alleged terrorist negotiator, who is challenging his designation as a terrorist while standing trial for his involvement in a terrorist attack on a train in 2022 that resulted in fatalities and numerous kidnappings.

Armed attackers invaded Kuseki community in Abuja Municipal Area Council, FCT, at night, moving house to house shooting and macheting residents, killing 11 people and injuring others after timing the attack for when community vigilantes were away at a meeting in a neighboring village.
