Troops rescue 16 abducted travellers in Kogi

Unknown kidnappers abducted five persons including a school principal, a NECO official, and two female NECO candidates from Government Secondary School in Dekina LGA during ongoing NECO examinations; one victim has since been rescued. The Kogi State Governor has ordered a multi-agency security operation to rescue the remaining four victims.

Suspected gunmen attacked Government Secondary School in Odo-Ekina, Dekina LGA, Kogi State, abducting four students, the school principal, and a NECO ad hoc staff member while students were writing their NECO examination. One of the abducted students has since been rescued; a combined security team is pursuing the remaining perpetrators.

Two students at Prince Abubakar Audu University in Kogi state were arrested for alleged involvement in cultism and possession of charms. They confessed to being members of the Juris Confraternity.

A 400-level student at Prince Abubakar Audu University was arrested for allegedly attempting to force another student into cult initiation, resulting in physical assault and threats to life. The incident was reported to the university's security after the victim sustained visible injuries.

Two students of Prince Abubakar Audu University have been arrested for the murder of a 300-level Biochemistry student. The suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident and have been handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.

A university student was killed during a cult-related altercation on campus at Prince Abubakar Audu University in Kogi state. The incident occurred during celebrations when rival cult members clashed, resulting in gunfire and a stabbing.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked Edede and Ojapata communities in Kogi State, resulting in one death and two injuries. Several houses were set ablaze during the attack, causing residents to flee.
