A young man was beaten to death by suspected cultists in Agege, Lagos, following a dispute over a missing phone after a birthday party.

Suspected cultists arrived in a vehicle and fatally shot a security guard in the head before attacking him with an axe in the Abule Ijesha area of Yaba, Lagos. The attackers also fired sporadically into the crowd as they fled, leaving three girls with gunshot wounds.

The Lagos State Police Command's Violent Crime Response Unit arrested five suspected cultists believed to be terrorising the Apapa, Ijora and Badia areas, following credible intelligence. A search of the group's hideout led to the recovery of weapons, suspected hard drugs, and items suspected to be criminal charms.

Lagos State Police arrested five suspected members of the Aye Confraternity during an intelligence-led stop-and-search operation along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis, recovering weapons including machetes, a battle axe, a knife, military camouflage, suspected hard drugs, 500 SIM cards, five mobile phones, five laptops, and charms.

Four suspected cultists were arrested in the Egbeda area of Lagos State during a police operation aimed at disrupting a cult initiation ceremony. The police recovered firearms and a knife from the suspects, who are linked to violent crimes in the community.
