A cache of weapons including AK-47 and G3 rifles, ammunition, and a POS device were recovered from the hideout.

A kidnap victim was rescued by Operation WHIRL STROKE troops and Benue State Civil Protection Guards in Igyudu community, Katsina-Ala LGA, after security forces responded to credible intelligence around 4:00 a.m. on July 8. The kidnappers abandoned the victim and fled into the forest upon the troops' arrival; the victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
