The Nigerian Army arrested a notorious IPOB and ESN kingpin known as 'Calamity' and four others during a raid in Ebonyi State. The suspects were linked to the killing of a police officer and the injury of another in Delta State earlier this year.

Five members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were killed in a gun duel with police after they attacked Ishieke Police Station in Ebonyi State. The confrontation lasted about 30 minutes, during which police vehicles were set ablaze.
