Suspected bandits released a woman and her three daughters after 180 days in captivity following their abduction from Ariyo Community in Kachia LGA, Kaduna State during an Easter-period attack in which several residents were killed. The 4-year-old daughter, who was gravely ill, died during the walk out of the bush; the survivors reached a village on Sunday and are receiving medical care, while other victims from the community remain in captivity.

Bandits abducted 37 worshippers from an ECWA church in Arikon, Kaduna State, during an Easter service, demanding a ransom of N1 billion and threatening to kill the victims if not paid. Five worshippers were killed during the attack.
