Suspected bandits attacked farmers on the outskirts of Wasagu town in Danko/Wasagu LGA, Kebbi State on Wednesday afternoon, killing one person and abducting four others. The attack occurred about one kilometre from the community while victims were working on their farms, with local sources indicating nearly 50 residents of Wasagu and neighbouring communities remain in bandit captivity.

Armed bandits abducted a Kebbi State High Court judge from his residence along Zogirma Road in Bunza LGA on Sunday, shortly after he returned from a trip to Sokoto. The attackers fired shots sporadically before fleeing with the judge; no other household members were harmed.

Armed bandits carried out two separate attacks within 24 hours in Wasagu community, Kebbi State — shooting and killing an elderly farmer on his farmland on Tuesday evening, and abducting another farmer on Monday while he worked near Wasagu town. Residents raised alarm over worsening insecurity and the failure of the state government to implement previously promised security measures including APCs and an Army Forward Operating Base.

Suspected bandits attacked a former local government director's residence in the Low Cost area of Yauri, Kebbi State at approximately 2:30 a.m., killing him after he resisted abduction. The attackers abducted his wife and a female secondary school teacher, whose whereabouts remained unknown at the time of reporting.

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued four kidnap victims after engaging armed terrorists in a gun battle in Surimi, a border community in Danko-Wasagu LGA, Kebbi State. The terrorists were overpowered and fled into the bush, abandoning their captives, who were subsequently reunited with their families.
