Suspected bandits attacked farmers on their farmlands in Lata Nna community, Patigi LGA, Kwara State on Sunday morning, killing one woman and injuring several others. Local vigilantes mobilised and engaged the attackers in a gun duel after the woman had already been killed.

Armed terrorists stormed an unidentified community in Kwara State on Tuesday, killing at least one resident and abducting others. Security operatives engaged the attackers in a firefight.

Unidentified armed gunmen were reported to be active inside Tungan Aboki town, approximately 4km from Kaiama city in Kwara State, in an ongoing situation. No casualty figures were immediately available.

The Lata Nna community in Patigi LGA, Kwara State, has written an SOS letter to the President detailing persistent bandit attacks over two years, including the killing of 65 hunters in August 2025, a farmer murdered in April 2026, two residents shot dead at a road blockade on June 26 2026, and multiple armed robberies and invasions culminating in a POS operator being robbed at gunpoint on July 15 2026. The community reports being unable to farm, trade, or travel safely, with their only road repeatedly blocked by bandits.

Police in Kwara disrupted a bandit network in Ilorin and arrested a suspect linked to the supply of materials for criminal activities. The operation was based on credible intelligence and aimed at dismantling logistical support for bandits.
