16 July 2026 · Osogbo
Suspected hoodlums carried out two separate attacks in Osogbo between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, killing two people and injuring at least eight others. In the first attack, APC members holding a meeting in Owode-Igbona were shot; in the second, about 40 armed youths stormed a motor park at Idi Seke, injuring two drivers and vandalising 19 vehicles.

A 19-year-old was shot dead and three others were injured at T&K Junction in Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, late on Monday night. Police confirmed the killing and said preliminary findings suggest the incident is cult-related, with the anti-cultism unit deployed to the area; no arrests had been made as of Tuesday.

A 25-year-old man was arrested by Amotekun Corps for his involvement in an armed robbery operation in Ororuwo community, Boripe LGA, following a distress call from residents. Items recovered from him included a short dane gun and a mask.
