Troops foil armed robbery near Barkin Ladi

Nigerian Army troops foiled a highway robbery attempt in Plateau State, causing the armed criminals to flee. No casualties were reported.

Two women were allegedly shot and killed by unidentified security operatives in the early hours of Monday in Nayagota community, Gyel District, Jos South LGA, Plateau State, after they approached the operatives to ask why they had entered the community. The incident triggered a protest along Bukuru Expressway and at the Jos South LGA Secretariat, with residents demanding justice.

A suspected armed robber died in a Plateau State hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds during a shootout with military troops. The suspect was receiving treatment when he succumbed to his injuries.

Three suspected phone thieves were apprehended by residents after attacking a female passenger in a tricycle in Jos. The suspects were saved from mob violence by vigilantes and handed over to the police.

Troops thwarted an armed robbery attempt at a pastor's residence in Hwol Buju community, Plateau State, forcing the assailants to flee. The pastor and his daughter sustained injuries during the incident, with reports indicating that the daughter was sexually assaulted.
