Troops of Operation Enduring Peace conducting a clearance operation at the Gero high grounds in Jos South LGA came under sporadic gunfire from suspected armed livestock rustlers after intercepting a herd of cattle allegedly grazing on cultivated farmland. Reinforcements from Sector 3 and Sector 6 engaged the attackers, neutralising one suspected bandit while others fled; two mobile phones and N14,000 were recovered from the scene.
