Port Harcourt residents protest rising one-chance attacks

Commercial drivers staged a protest at the Obiri-Kwere Flyover in Port Harcourt, blocking the road for about two hours after a colleague was allegedly pushed from his moving vehicle by taskforce officials over a ticket dispute, causing serious injury. Drivers demanded the disbandment of the taskforce, accusing its members of harassment and extortion.

Thugs disrupted a political rally of the African Democratic Congress Young Women Forum in Alesa, Eleme, Rivers, destroying equipment and dispersing supporters. The incident was condemned as an attempt to suppress democratic engagement ahead of elections.

Armed thugs attempted to block former Minister Amaechi from entering his hometown in Ubima, Rivers State, while also setting fire to the ADC Secretariat. This incident follows a pattern of attacks on ADC members in the area.
