Armed bandits attacked Rimawa village in Goronyo LGA, Sokoto State on Friday night, shooting three residents, rustling cattle and sheep, and looting a phone charging centre of mobile phones and power banks. The attack lasted over two hours with no security intervention; one resident subsequently died from complications attributed to shock caused by the raid.

Six soldiers from the 8 Division Garrison sustained injuries in a road traffic accident in Goronyo LGA, Sokoto State, while returning from an administrative patrol. The injured personnel were evacuated to Goronyo Hospital and later transferred to the 8 Division Military Hospital; all were reported in stable condition.

Armed bandits attacked Illelar Dawagware village in Goronyo LGA, Sokoto State around 12:20am on Sunday, killing a village imam and three others before abducting 12 residents comprising eight women and four men. The attackers, estimated at about 30 in number, arrived on nine motorcycles and operated for approximately 30 minutes while security personnel failed to respond to distress calls.

On April 26, suspected bandits attacked Tulutu village in Goronyo LGA, shooting a young man and abducting three others. In a related incident, they also kidnapped a commercial motorcycle rider in Kwanan Keta, but security forces managed to rescue him.
