Armed bandits attacked Lajinge village in the Sabon Birni axis of Sokoto State late at night, killing 11 people and stealing livestock before departing in the early hours of the morning.

Bandits attacked Tsamaye village in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State on Tuesday night, killing at least 7 people, including 3 shot inside a mosque, and abducting at least 3 residents, while also rustling livestock, looting shops, burning two shops, and setting a vehicle ablaze. Security operatives stationed in the village were pinned down by the attackers, who spent over six hours in the community before fleeing.

Approximately 200 suspected bandits dressed in military uniforms attacked Unguwan Lalle community in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State, from around 8 p.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday, killing four people, injuring several others, looting homes and shops, and rustling livestock. The attackers exploited the withdrawal of military troops who had earlier responded to a separate bandit attack in the area, entering through back routes while avoiding a military checkpoint on the main road.

Suspected bandits abducted over 50 residents of Garin Idi village in Sokoto State, including women rounded up from a house and men from an Islamic school, between 10 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The bandits demanded N1.6 million in ransom; residents raised N600,000 which secured the release of all abductees, but bandits imposed a remaining levy of N1 million and later returned demanding an additional N300,000, which was also paid.

Suspected bandits attacked Kwaren Gamba community in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, killing two residents, injuring three others, and abducting five people including three women. The attack came barely five days after the same community was previously attacked, with bandits abducting five women and an infant in that earlier raid.

Armed bandits reportedly led by bandit kingpin Bello Turji attacked two communities in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State on Wednesday night, abducting at least 37 residents including women and children, killing a 10-year-old child, and injuring several others. The attackers first clashed with local vigilantes in Tarah community before moving to Takatsaba community; fears that the road to the General Hospital had been rigged with explosives delayed evacuation of the wounded.
