Delta State Police Command conducted intelligence-led raids on criminal black spots across the Asaba metropolis on July 24, 2026, resulting in the arrest of 81 suspects for offences including illicit drug sale and possession and operating an illegal checkpoint. Large quantities of Tramadol and suspected Indian hemp were recovered, and five vehicles were impounded.

Six suspected Nigerian fraudsters operating a celebrity impersonation scam centre targeting UK citizens and other international victims were arrested in Asaba, Delta State on July 4, following a joint operation by the Nigeria Police, UK National Crime Agency (NCA), and Meta. Eleven mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, and a Mercedes-Benz GLK SUV were recovered.

A 19-year-old student in Delta State was arrested for possessing an illegal firearm, allegedly purchased for self-protection. The suspect admitted to planning to join a cult group and expressed remorse during interrogation.
