Police operatives from Ebrumede Division arrested a 28-year-old suspected armed robber during a stop-and-search operation along Garki-Uti Road in Effurun, Delta State, while two accomplices escaped on a motorcycle. Recovered items included two locally made double-barrel guns, eleven live cartridges, an axe, and other items; preliminary investigation indicates the suspects were transporting the weapons to a hideout along Sapele Road.

Delta State Police arrested a suspected human trafficker who lured two women to Côte d'Ivoire under false pretences and forced them into prostitution. One victim was rescued and returned to Nigeria; efforts are ongoing to recover the second victim and dismantle the trafficking syndicate.

A leadership meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta Central chapter at the Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun descended into violence on Saturday, with attendees throwing chairs and other objects, injuring several party members. The confrontation was reportedly linked to factional disagreements over party benefits between founding members and newer members.
