21 June 2026 · Hadejia
A gas explosion triggered by an open flame igniting escaping LPG during a delivery truck offload razed an LPG retail outlet on Katagum Road in Hadejia, Jigawa State on Saturday evening. No lives were lost, but the outlet was completely destroyed along with over 10 gas cylinders and merchandise estimated to be worth millions of naira.

Jigawa State Police Command arrested multiple suspects across several LGAs in intelligence-led operations targeting attempted kidnapping, armed robbery, vandalism of electrical cables, cattle rustling, mobile phone theft, and a motorcycle theft syndicate. Recovered items include five motorcycles, four stolen cows, vandalised electrical cables, and suspected burglary tools; multiple suspects have been charged to court.

Twelve suspected armed robbers were arrested in Jigawa State following a police operation targeting criminal activities in Hadejia. The suspects are linked to a notorious gang and various items were recovered during the operation.

Jigawa police arrested two fraudsters who deceived a victim into losing N1,050,000 during a fake currency exchange. The suspects were caught with fake currency and a stolen vehicle.

Two suspects were arrested for stealing metal beds and mattresses from Government Unity Secondary School in Malam Madori, Jigawa State. The theft occurred on December 27, 2023, and the stolen items were recovered.
