A youth leader was shot and killed by armed bandits in the Bareke area of Egbe, Kogi State. The incident sparked protests from local youths demanding action from authorities.
22 July 2025 · Lokoja
A photo-journalist was allegedly murdered by his colleague in Lokoja, Kogi State. The victim's body was discovered in a deep freezer and later recovered by the police.
15 April 2025 · Okehi
Armed men attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Obeiba Community, Kogi State, on April 15. No one was hurt during the incident, and investigations are underway.

An assassination attempt was made on the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, while he was en route to Abuja. The attackers ambushed his convoy, but the attack was foiled by security personnel.

Gunmen invaded Okofi community in Kogi state, killing the chief Imam and four others shortly after morning prayers. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.

A local vigilante chairman was shot and killed by gunmen while relaxing in front of his house in Efakwu area of Egume community, Kogi State. The assailants fled the scene on a motorcycle after the attack.
