Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja suspended seven lecturers, six for unauthorised sale of handouts and textbooks, and one for sexual harassment, amid broader allegations of sex-for-marks, cultism, and misconduct on campus. The institution's disciplinary committee is investigating claims that some lecturers demanded sexual favours or money from female students in exchange for passing grades, while cult groups have reportedly resumed activities on campus.

A 400-level student at Prince Abubakar Audu University was arrested for allegedly attempting to force another student into cult initiation, resulting in physical assault and threats to life. The incident was reported to the university's security after the victim sustained visible injuries.

A female teacher at a nursery and primary school in Ugbamaka, Olamaboro LGA, Kogi State, died on June 25, 2026, from injuries sustained in a series of assaults carried out by three suspects between June 18 and June 25. The attacks were allegedly triggered by disciplinary measures the teacher had taken against a pupil; three suspects have been arrested and are to be arraigned for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
