Bandits blocked the Mokwa-New Bussa Road at Rafin Zaki in Mashegu LGA, Niger State, in the early hours of Wednesday and opened fire on a commercial vehicle, injuring two passengers with gunshot wounds. The attackers operated for hours, leaving many drivers and travellers stranded; the same road had been attacked the previous day (Tuesday), resulting in four deaths and multiple abductions.

Bandits blocked the Mokwa-Kainji highway in Niger State at Rafin Zaki village, opening fire on vehicles. Some cars escaped with bullet holes and travellers were warned to avoid the area.

Bandits attacked travellers on the Ibbi to Mokwa highway in Niger State, killing at least 2 people. The situation was reported as active at the time of posting, with warnings to avoid the area.

Niger State Police arrested 27 suspects during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts in Minna on July 4–6, including 10 men who confessed to travelling from Yobe State for illegal mining and 17 others found with weapons and cannabis. A notorious wanted thug was among those apprehended; all suspects were transferred to the SCID for further investigation.

An armed robbery syndicate was arrested in Suleja, Niger State after they robbed a victim of a motorcycle and fatally stabbed him. The police apprehended several suspects involved in the robbery and discovered various weapons and stolen items.

Ten suspected robbers and thugs were arrested in Minna during police operations aimed at curbing criminal activities. The suspects were allegedly attempting to rob passengers and were found with weapons.
1 June 2026 · Suleja
A trader was stabbed to death by suspected robbers during an attack at his residence in Suleja, Niger State. The attackers stole his mobile phones and motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
9 May 2026 · Minna
Two suspected armed robbers were arrested in Minna, Niger State after they broke into a hotel and robbed guests of their valuables. The suspects were apprehended by police operatives shortly after the incident.
