Gunmen abduct young man, tie five at Oyo ranch

A 17-year-old boy was abducted in the early hours of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Aladere Village near Ikoyi-Ile in Oyo State. A joint security team comprising police, Amotekun Corps, local vigilantes, and hunters launched a search-and-rescue operation that forced the kidnappers to flee, and the victim was recovered unhurt and reunited with his family.

The Oyo State Police Anti-Kidnapping Squad rescued the child unharmed and arrested two suspects at their hideout in Ibadan on July 11, 2026, after the family had already paid N1 million in ransom in Gbongan, Osun State.

Two men were arrested by Oyo State Police anti-kidnapping squads after abducting a five-year-old girl from her home in the Iyana Offa area of Ibadan on July 3, 2026, and demanding a N10 million ransom. The child was rescued unhurt on July 11, 2026, from the suspects' hideout in the Iwo Road area of Ibadan; the suspects had already received N1 million in ransom in Gbongan, Osun State.
