Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke rescued two kidnap victims during a fighting patrol in Lau LGA, Taraba State, on July 26, 2026. The victims had been held in captivity for approximately one week after being abducted from Tashan Musa and Barkindan Fulani communities, where armed criminals also stole food items.

Two commercial motorcyclists were killed and a third critically injured in an ambush by unidentified assailants along the Donadda–Kunini road in Lau LGA, Taraba State, on Monday evening. The attackers inflicted severe machete wounds on the victims and carted away their motorcycles; police have commenced efforts to track down the perpetrators.
