A 20-year-old man was arrested in Katsina after allegedly attacking his 19-year-old niece with knives and firewood, attempting to suffocate her, and stealing her phones and cash valued at over ₦950,000. The suspect was found in possession of the stolen iPhone and confessed to the crime; the victim was treated and discharged from hospital.

A seven-man armed robbery syndicate broke into a family residence in Unwala Quarters, Katsina at approximately 2 a.m. on June 19, 2026, stealing two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, and two power banks. All seven primary suspects were subsequently arrested through an intelligence-led police operation, with four accomplices still at large.
