A four-man armed robbery gang on two motorcycles trailed a PoS operator to her residence in Igando, Lagos, and when they failed to gain entry, fired indiscriminately, striking a recent university graduate who was passing by. The victim was rushed to a nearby general hospital and was in critical condition.

A 32-year-old dispatch rider died along Ikotun-Idimu Road in Alimosho LGA, Lagos, under disputed circumstances. The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into conflicting accounts of how he lost control of his motorcycle and died.

Hundreds of armed thugs allegedly invaded residential estates in Alimosho, Lagos between July 30 and August 1, 2026, vandalising homes and businesses, sealing shops, removing rooftops, destroying gates, and assaulting residents and a journalist while purportedly enforcing a disputed court judgment in favour of the Yaku family. Residents of Santos Layout and Valley Estate allege they were not parties to the court case and are calling on the Lagos State Government to intervene.

Lagos State Police operatives arrested a suspected armed robber during a routine patrol in the Igando area after intercepting a motorcycle carrying three suspicious male occupants. One suspect was apprehended and a locally fabricated pistol and assorted charms were recovered; two accomplices escaped.

Lagos police raided a criminal hideout at a dump site in Alimosho, setting it ablaze and arresting several suspects believed to be armed robbers and hardened criminals.

A commercial bus conductor stabbed a LASTMA officer with a screwdriver during a traffic enforcement operation at Ile-Epo Market along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway while resisting the impoundment of his vehicle. The suspect was arrested and handed over to the Abattoir Police Division, while the injured officer received emergency treatment and is recovering.
