The Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of NURTW was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen who attacked his vehicle in the Fadeyi area of Lagos on Sunday evening. Three other occupants of the vehicle also sustained gunshot wounds and were hospitalised in serious condition.

The Lagos State Organising Secretary of the NURTW was ambushed by unidentified gunmen in the Fadeyi area on July 12, 2026, after an alleged informant monitored his movements and relayed real-time information to the attackers; he succumbed to gunshot injuries on July 14. The killing is believed to be linked to longstanding gang/cult rivalries in the Mushin-Fadeyi corridor, with possible connections to an earlier killing of a suspected Buccaneers cult member.
