Armed robbers attacked students of ICT Adegbenro Polytechnic in the Eruku area overnight, killing a female final-year HND 2 Marketing student and injuring at least two others. The incident triggered a student protest that blocked the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and prompted the institution to postpone scheduled examinations.

Ogun State Police SWAT operatives raided a criminal hideout at Isheri-Olofin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as part of Operation Kosaye, arresting 43 suspects on charges including criminal conspiracy, unlawful society membership, drug possession, and prostitution-related offences. All 43 were charged to court and remanded, bringing the total prosecuted under Operation Kosaye to 76 suspects.

Two separate armed robbery incidents occurred in Ogun State: armed hoodlums invaded a residence in Ogere Remo and stole two motorcycles, phones, and cash, while a second gang robbed a home in Ajuwon of phones, jewellery, a laptop, and a Toyota Camry. Police, So-Safe Corps, and vigilantes responded, recovering the stolen motorcycles and vehicle and arresting two suspects.

A retired Ogun State broadcaster and her security guard were murdered at her residence in Agodo village, Kobape area of Abeokuta on Saturday June 21, 2026. Three suspects, including the victim's former security guard, confessed to the killing and robbery, stating they needed money to rent an apartment; they also stole her Lexus RX 330 vehicle.

A 100-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University was shot dead by suspected armed robbers on Thursday, causing mourning within the university community.

Six suspects were arrested in Ogun State for theft and illegal possession of firearms during intelligence-led operations. Police recovered several stolen generators and firearms from the suspects.

A final-year student was shot dead during an armed robbery attack in the Konigba area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. The robbers targeted several houses, stealing valuables while the community protested for safety measures following the incident.
