Suspected armed bandits attacked a private student hostel along Paraga Road, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, abducting five students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade during a 30-minute raid. The polytechnic subsequently cancelled Thursday's examinations, and security operatives were deployed to comb nearby forests in search of the victims.

Suspected abductors attempted to kidnap a motorist at the Onigaari area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on the evening of 26 July 2026, but were foiled by Ogun State Police Safer Highway Patrol operatives who responded to gunshots, forcing the suspects to flee and rescuing the victim unhurt.
