Troops of the Nigerian Army arrested 28 suspected oil thieves and deactivated four illegal refining sites in Rivers State as part of ongoing operations against crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

Suspected sea pirates abducted 12 boat passengers and their driver along the Isaka waterways in Okrika LGA, Rivers State, while en route to Bille Town, and hijacked two other passenger boats, stripping them of goods along routes to the Cawthorne Channel and Bonny Island.

A clash between rival cults in Okrika Waterfront, Port Harcourt, resulted in the deaths of two women. The violence erupted during a local football match when members of the Icelander cult retaliated against the Greenlander cult.

Suspected pirates hijacked a commercial passenger boat traveling from Port Harcourt to Bonny, abducting two passengers in the process. The incident occurred around 10am in the Isaka area of the Bonny Port Harcourt waterway.

The EFCC has begun investigations into 58 suspected oil thieves involved in illegal oil bunkering activities in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, following their interception by the Nigerian Navy.

The Nigerian Navy arrested five suspected oil thieves involved in vandalizing oil pipelines and stealing petroleum products in Rivers state. The suspects were apprehended while transporting large quantities of suspected adulterated diesel.

Twelve suspected oil thieves were arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Rivers State while attempting to transport adulterated petroleum products. The operation led to the impounding of several tankers and the recovery of a firearm.

Two individuals were arrested for vandalising an oil pipeline and operating illegal refineries in Amabiukiri Creek, Okrika Local Government Area, Rivers State. The operation led to the destruction of five functional illegal refineries and five others under construction.
